“Culture eats strategy for breakfast” – Peter Drucker.
This is a great business quote. No matter what strategies and plans management tries to put into place, if the employees are not passionate about their roles and their organization the company will flounder. Developing and maintaining a passionate and driven corporate culture is critical. Without it a business will not see true success.
It is the same with our Christian walk. People complain about not seeing God in their lives but say they are doing everything right. They pray, read the Bible, go to church, tithe, buy the latest Christian books, watch YouTube videos, go to Christian conferences, hang out with other believers. They put their strategies and plans into place and expect solid God results.
But something is missing.
“I’m doing all the right things so why do I feel so…empty and disappointed in God? Everyone else gets God but why not me? What am I doing wrong?”
Active Christian Culture
Strategies and plans are important. Absolutely. But without an active Christian culture – a burning passion for the Christ and a never-ending pursuit of God – firmly embedded in our lives we may not see true spiritual fulfillment.
What should we do?
Live as Christ lived and see the world through His eyes. Constantly ask, “What would Jesus do?” or “What would Jesus say?” Open our hearts wide and bathe in God’s unconditional love. Understand no matter what we do or think of ourselves God’s love for us is real, immeasurable, eternal and perfect. In sum – Christ in our hearts, Holy Spirit deep inside, God in and all around us.
We can read, listen and digest all we want about God’s love but unless we live it out we cannot understand the sacrifices His Son made for us, how much He loves us, and what a truly good God He is to us. Every thought, vision, breath, touch, taste, sound…all we are is a result of His love for us. Our birth is a birth of His love and the loving never, ever stops.
When we first connect with God, we begin the journey to understand the depth and breadth of the Father’s love. Walking in Christ’s shoes and doing everything to get closer and closer to the Lord is the foundation of an active Christian culture. Without the burning passion for the Christ and the endless drive to pursue the Lord, we are only going through the motions.
God knows our hearts and desires. When we build the passion and love of Christ and His Heavenly Father into our lives, God reciprocates. He is a wondrous, gracious, generous, merciful, loving God constantly after our own hearts to make us His and His alone.
Getting God does not happen overnight. It takes time, patience and practice. God is full of wonder and mystery. The Lord sometimes cloaks His moves in silence and secret. Other times, He is subtle and discreet. And then sometimes He can be bold and direct. We must learn to look for the signs, His fingerprints on our lives, the infinite ways He talks to us. Many times we miss it. If it slips by and we don’t see it the first time, He shows us in another way. One thing is certain. God never gives up on us. Once we surrender ourselves to Him and He takes over our lives, the Lord will never stop reaching out to us again and again.
The Best Part
The best part of an active Christian culture is our wondrous and exciting journey with God. It is all about the ride – not our goals or final expectations – and no two journeys are the same. Getting to know God is filled with endless surprise. With God at the helm, expect the unexpected. Get ready to be dazzled and amazed by what God has in store for your life. The thrills, chills and adventures of being in a unique place to reach out and touch the face of the Creator of Everything. We are indeed the chosen (and spoiled) ones. We get to experience a ride most will miss and we should take advantage of every opportunity to get as much God as we can…while we still have the time.
Christian culture eats Christian strategy for breakfast. There is no substitute for a burning passion for the Christ and an never-ending pursuit of God. Develop your Christian culture today and watch God truly come alive in you.Christian culture eats Christian strategy for breakfast Click To Tweet
