God – the Great Encourager
God is the Great Encourager. I believe this is one of His biggest roles in our lives as He encourages us in so many ways.
God fills us with self-confidence. He takes people who have been beaten down and kicked to the curb and shows them what is possible with God at the center. Not a distant God. Not a peripheral God. A core God. With God at the center, nothing dare come against us. We are made pure, righteous, complete and whole in Him. With God at our core, we are unstoppable and unbeatable.
God fills us with strength and determination. We have the ability to tap into His unlimited energy which propels us forward, keeps us moving along the path He designed especially for us. The further we walk, the stronger we become, and the greater the possibilities for our lives. He gives us the power to transform ourselves, neighborhoods, communities, nations, and the world. We lean on God for He is our eternal source of strength, delivering us from sin, darkness and temptation. Giving us a willpower and drive we never imagined possible.
God fills us with hopes and dreams. As our minds are renewed and our lives changed forever, Jesus Christ shows us a better life, a better world, and a brighter future. He paints a picture of “what will be” if we love, believe and follow the Lord. He shows us the possible when all we see is the impossible, lets our imaginations run wild in perfect freedom to dream big, bold and strong.
God is the Great Encourager, never leaving our side or giving up on us even when we are on the brink of walking away or letting it all go.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
I see God as a father teaching his baby daughter or son to walk. Standing right beside us when we slip or fall. Ready to pick us up and help us try again. Always there, every step of the way.
God does not do the walking for you. No, the Lord wants you to learn how to walk and to practice, practice, practice until you get it right. Giving you those treasured words of encouragement and support. “You can do this. I know you can. I created you and I know what you can do if only you stay the course and never let the world lead you astray.”
As you take those first steps, He will uphold and steady you as you go. At first you are thrilled as you see yourself take the first one, two, three steps. At some point He may let go and see how you do on your own. You will drop to the ground and struggle to get back up on your feet. You will learn you cannot do this alone. You reach out to Him and He responds in kind. As a good father He reaches out to you so you can lean on Him, steady yourself, push back up and try again. Learning what to do, where to go, and how to do it.
It will take time – probably much longer than you think – but one day you will learn not only to walk tall and strong but to run.
I believe our run is His greatest joy. Watching us run in love, truth, goodness, light, freedom, hope, and laughter. Run as fast as we can straight into His open and welcoming arms. Our Father picks us up, spins us around, and lifts us higher and higher so we may rise above ourselves and see everything His world has to offer.
God wants us to run as fast and hard as we can. Burst through every worldly barrier, jump over every stubborn obstacle, leap high over deep canyons of darkness and fear, run like the wind and show the world the enemy is defeated and nothing can slow us down.
As we race down the track we turn and see God sitting in the bleachers – clapping, shouting, and cheering us on. Proving the race is won, our destiny is sealed, and nothing can stand in our way.God is the Great Encourager - leading, supporting, guiding our every step Click To Tweet
