Wonder and Awe
Happy New Year and I hope you had a fantastic Christmas! Spent the past couple of weeks with the kids. They were back in Seattle for Christmas. Amazed how much they’ve changed since I last saw them. Lots to catch up on. Miss the darlings so much!
Okay, where was I? Oh ya, right. Almost forgot. Holy Spirit.
I get words from Holy Spirit. He tells me stuff sometimes, right out of the blue. Like today. I was drinking tea after I got home from doing a bit of shopping and Holy Spirit showed up for a chat. Kids were out with their friends which was a good thing for me! He does this sometimes. Usually when I’m alone. I know it’s Him and not me and my crazy imagination because I can never write stuff like this. It’s all Holy Spirit, none of it is me. This proves He is real to me. Anyway, hope you enjoy what He said to me today. It’s not perfect (fades in and out when He talks) but I thought it was so cool.
The wonder and awe. Of it all.
Knowing that God is in your life.
Knowing that you are not alone and God is always there for you. To talk to when you are lonely. To comfort you when you are down. To be with you in times of trouble.
The wonder and awe of knowing no matter what happens in your life you are never alone, sad or blue. When life gets rough and you feel the world has abandoned you, there is always God there right by your side.
To counsel and guide. Give wisdom and knowledge. To see you through the darkest, most treacherous storms, when everything seems to be at a loss and you don’t know what to do or where to turn. All you need to do is look up, look in, look around and the Lord in Heaven is there.
Every minute of every waking and sleeping hour God is there for you.
You don’t have to do a thing. Just be you. He loves you for only that. Being yourself. Being who you are in Christ Jesus. Not putting on airs or pretending to be better than you are. Just being you, warts and all. He loves you simply for that.
The wonder and awe of knowing you are saved, precious, beautiful, and God is your loving father embracing you constantly. Giving you His love, time, energy, commitment as He takes you on the journey of a lifetime.
Holding you close, breathing words of love and encouragement, stroking your hair and rocking you to sleep every night.
